History of Kolkata
Kolkata was earlier known as Calcutta. At the time of British rule until 1911 Kolkata was the capital of India. Kolkata is also known as for their revolutionary history. This place has also been the land of eminent people such as Swami Vivekananda, Subhas Chandra Bose, Rabindranath Tagore, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Mother Teresa, Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, and many other genial persons.
